The International Academy of Hope – New York City, is designed to service the students and families within New York City’s five boroughs (see Figure below) who have a child with a brain injury or other brain-based disorder. Currently, there is no school equipped to handle any student with an IDEA classification of TBI (traumatic brain injury), which is the #1 cause of death and disability for American youth. Students within New York City will receive priority for available slots, however, some students may come from outside New York City. In addition, iHOPE-NYC will be providing educational, training and support services to the community.
